What is an airsoft riot shield?

An airsoft riot shield is a Lexan shield with a high-density foam backing. It measures roughly 3-feet tall and 2-feet wide, and is 3-millimeters thick. An airsoft riot shield has a rounded shape to provide maximum coverage. It also has two handles, and is lightweight for portability.

The Evike Airsoft Superstore states that this type of shield is ideal for cameramen, simulations and close-quarters airsoft training. It can withstand airsoft fire at 600 feet per second. Although an airsoft shield is made to block airsoft fire and other soft projectiles, it is not capable of stopping ballistics projectiles from live firearms. The shield is not suitable for real riot scenarios.
