Do aloe plants have to be grown from seeds?

Aloe plants grow from seeds as well as from aloe leaves. To grow an aloe plant from a leaf, plant the aloe leaf in potting soil, place it in the sun, and water it as needed. Small leaves begin to sprout about two weeks after they're planted.

If you don't have access to an existing aloe plant, use seeds to grow plants them the same way you would leaves. Retailers such as Amazon.com and Horizon Herbs sell these seeds.There are several species of aloe to choose from, and they range in price from $2 to $4 per seed packet as of 2015.
