Is aluminium attracted to a magnet?

Aluminum is not attracted to a magnet unless it is in a strong magnetic field. In strong magnetic fields, aluminum can become slightly magnetic. Under normal circumstances, aluminum does not exhibit magnetism; aluminum can produce an electrical current when it interacts with a magnet.

By moving a magnet and aluminum near each other, an electrical current is generated to cause an interaction between the two. An example of this kind of interaction is in a shake flashlight. The magnet moves back and forth between copper wire, creating a small electrical field. Whenever an electrical current is generated, a magnetic field is also created.
