Will an Amaryllis bulb bloom two years in a row without planting outdoors?

An amaryllis is forced to rebloom by deadheading the bloom and storing the bulb and its container in a cool location for six to eight weeks. After cold storage, water the bulb normally, and allow eight to ten weeks for a new bloom to appear.

After cutting the bloom off, allow the flower stalk to wilt before cutting it off directly above the bulb. If the bulb is planted outdoors, dig it up after flowering, or when temperatures begin to cool in the autumn, wipe the excess dirt off the bulb, and cut off any foliage before storing the bulb in a location with temperatures from 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
