Movies are typically released for sale on DVD every Tuesday; Amazon.com makes the same movie titles available to rent digitally on the same day that they are released for physical purchase. However, since most retailers are not open at midnight on Monday evening, viewers may actually be able to rent new movie releases on Amazon.com before they can purchase them in stores.
