An American Bullnese is a breed of dog established by Robert E. Rice in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1989. It combines the characteristics of several breeds of dog, including the French bulldog and the Pekingese.
There are two different types of American Bullnese. The purebred version combines five different breeds of dogs, while the second kind is the result of crossbreeding only the French bulldog and the Pekingese. The American Bullnese posses a variety of desirable traits that were selected by Mr. Rice, including a happy demeanor, a confident temperament and a smooth, short-haired coat that is easy to groom and maintain.
