The American Tract Society is a non-profit evangelical Christian organization headquartered in Garland, Texas. ATS was founded for the purpose of producing and distributing Christian literature, primarily in the form of small tracts.
The American Tract Society was founded in 1825 in New York City. In 1978, ATS relocated its headquarters from New York to Garland, Texas. It is theologically conservative and has distributed many millions of pieces of Christian literature.
In September 2012, the American Tract Society entered a joint publishing agreement with Good News Publishing, a division of Crossway. According to the agreement, Crossway publishes both Good News and ATS tracts.
