AmeriCorps is a network of programs that connects more than 70,000 young adults every year in intensive services, such as public agencies, community groups, schools and nonprofit organizations. Its main goal is to meet community needs in health, education, safety and security.
Members of AmeriCorps play crucial roles in more than 2,000 community groups, public agencies and nonprofit organizations. A person can opt to serve part-time or full-time positions for a particular period. This program allows youth to earn money for education, gain skills and develop a sense of patriotism. Members have different opportunities, including training, child care, student loans and health insurance.
