Do ants have noses?

Ants do not have noses, but they do have two long protrusions known as antennae on their heads that function in a similar way. Antennae allow ants to sense their local environment and to communicate with other members of the colony, and these instruments are always moving.
Ants communicate with other members of their colony by touching antennae. In addition to being used for smell and communication, antennae are also used as a compensatory vision organ, as ants have poor eyesight. The antennae allow the animal to feel in front and behind to avoid obstacles and find alternate paths of movement.
