Is AP chemistry hard?

AP or "advanced placement" chemistry is a hard high school course often taken by college-bound students looking to improve their chances for admission into a four-year college or university. This course, along with other challenging, advanced-placement courses, is recommended to high school students who plan on attending college after graduation.
Other advanced placement courses that many high school guidance counselors encourage college-bound students to take include AP English, AP history/government and AP math. It is also recommended that college-bound high school students take four years of a foreign language, such as Spanish or French. Performing well in these courses does not guarantee admission; however, mastery of the material in these courses generally improves admission test scores.
