Android devices access Google's Play Store, while Apple's iOS devices use the App Store. Windows Phones use the apps and games sections of the Windows Store.
Google's Play Store was original named Android Market, but Google later used the Play Store as the storefront brand for apps and various media. As of 2015, the legality of calling a specific store an app store has not been resolved. Amazon, which sells devices based on its version of the Android operating system, sells apps and media though the Amazon App Store, which prompted legal action from Apple. After a judge expressed skepticism toward some of Apple's claims, Apple withdrew its complaint.
