Apple cider vinegar can be used to treat most dandruff. Apple cider vinegar relieves dandruff that is caused by an excessive growth of yeast on the scalp, but not all dandruff occurs because of excessive yeast growth.
Apple cider vinegar applied to the scalp alters the pH level. By altering the pH level in this manner, the environment becomes unfavorable to the growth of yeast. The net result is the elimination of dandruff that is caused by yeast. The appropriate preparation is to blend a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar with a quarter cup of water. The mixture is then sprayed onto the scalp and allowed to remain for 15 minutes to 1 hour.
