Merchants in the state of Missouri wishing to accept SNAP benefits at their retail store or farmers' market must apply to the United States Department of Agriculture for authorization. The application process is free, simple, and may be accessed and completed online.

  1. Create a USDA account

    Set up an e-authentication account by visiting the USDA through the Food and Nutrition Service website. Activate your account by clicking the hyperlink within the confirmation e-mail you receive.

  2. Access the application from the website

    Return to the site, and select the "Fill Out Online Application" link to apply.

  3. Check the status of your application

    View the status of your request on the site by clicking Check the Status of Your Online Application. Be advised that it may take up to 45 days for the FNS to process the application.
