Before applying Naval Jelly, remove loose dirt and rust. Brush on a coat of Naval Jelly, let it stand for 15 minutes, and rinse it off.

Use a wire brush to remove loose dirt and rust from the object. Do not use Naval Jelly on aluminum, chrome, fiberglass, cement, marble or plastic.
- Brush on a coat of Naval Jelly
Brush on a liberal coating of Naval Jelly. Do not use it in confined spaces. Wear rubber or plastic gloves and safety glasses, goggles or a full-face shield while working with Naval Jelly.
- Wait 15 minutes
Wait 15 minutes for the Naval Jelly to remove the rust.
- Rinse with water
Rinse the object off with a garden hose. Inspect it, and if there is any remaining rust, repeat the process.
