For what was Aristotle best known?

Aristotle was best known for his philosophical beliefs, which laid the groundwork for many philosophers to come. He was born in 384 B.C. in Stagira, Greece.

When Aristotle was 17 years old, he attended Plato's Academy. At that point, he built relationships with two other great Greek philosophers, Socrates and Plato. Years later, he began to tutor Alexander the Great when he was a teenager. He eventually returned to Athens, where he founded his own school called the Lyceum. Through his work with his school, he focused much of the rest of his life on teaching, writing and studying. While many people believe that he only focused on philosophy, he also studied other subjects like science.
