Are armadillos reptiles?

An armadillo is not a reptile; it is a mammal. Like all mammals, It is warm-blooded and is often confused for a reptile because of its scaly armored skin.

Armadillos are omnivores that live between 12 and 15 years. Depending on the species and its age, an armadillo can weigh between 3 ounces and 120 pounds. All breeds of armadillo are found in Latin America, except for the Nine-Banded armadillo, which is only found in the United States.

Armadillos are also known to sleep for up to 16 hours on any given day. They sleep in burrows, and look for food during the morning hours when it is cooler.
