What are army fatigue pants?

Army fatigue pants are pants worn by soldiers while they are completing noncombat tasks. A soldier digging a trench, cleaning up around the Army base or doing other nonmilitary duties wears fatigue pants.
Army fatigue pants are often a camouflaged print, with a base color of either olive green or tan. The pants have a drawstring at the bottom of each leg to prevent items from entering the pant's leg from the ground and to give a custom fit around boots. Each pant leg has a large side pocket so soldiers can carry various tools or small items needed for their tasks.
