Pablo Picasso studied at three different schools: the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, the Royal Academy of San Fernando and La Llotja. Picasso, the co-creator of the cubism art style, was born in Malaga in 1881. He first attended the Royal Academy in 1895 at the age of 14.

During his academy years, Picasso had issues with the strict rules and styles of teaching at both the School of Fine Arts and the Royal Academy. In the early 20th century, Picasso moved to Paris to establish his own art studio, starting a period in his career most art historians call his "Blue Period."
