What is a Walt Disney lithograph?

Walt Disney lithographs are authorized prints of artwork originally created by Disney artists. Lithographs are authorized prints based on original artwork that have been created using a process in which an artist applies grease to a stone tablet or metal plate to create a mirrored image of the original artwork.

Official Walt Disney lithographs are faithful reproductions of original Disney art. This process is usually time consuming and normally results in limited numbers of prints in order to keep the prints valuable. Unlike giclee printing where the print is applied with inkjets, lithographs are created by applying layers of four colors from plates or tablets.
