By Forinfos - 26/07/2025 - 0 comments
Asterisk PBX is software that provides the necessary components to create a business phone system without using a physical PBX box. The program includes voice mail, call queuing, conference bridging, paging, intercom and an automated attendant service.
A business using the Asterisk PBX software is able to link its phones in a network without purchasing a physical PBX box. Phones in the system can also connect with outside telephone services, such as VoIP services and public telephone networks. The Asterisk was developed by Mark Spencer in 1999 at Digium. The program is written in the C programming language and is operated on Mac OSX, OpenBSD and Linux.
