What is the atomic mass of an element?
By Forinfos - 14/03/2026 - 0 comments
Atomic mass of an element is the average weight of the components that make up an atom. An atom is composed of protons, neutrons and electrons.
There are three ways to configure atomic mass. The first is by locating the element on the periodic table by its element symbol. The element symbol is the shorthand version of the element. The atomic mass is generally located below the symbol in decimal form. The second way is to add the masses of the protons and neutrons. The third way to calculate atomic mass is to multiply the mass by its natural abundance. These values are then added together.
