An Attorney General's office is the office where the Attorney General and his or her staff works. Every state and the federal government have an Attorney General's office.
The Attorney General is the chief legal officer for the state or for the federal government. They serve as an attorney to the legislature and government agencies, and generally work for all citizens of their particular state. The Attorney General's powers vary from state to state.
