What is an auto buffer?

An auto buffer is a handheld machine that auto detailers use to wax and polish an automobile body to a high shine. There are two kinds of buffers, including high-speed buffers and random orbital buffers.
High-speed buffers require training and skill to avoid damaging the car paint. A random orbital buffer requires less skill and delivers a high shine if used properly. Before using a buffer, the car body should be completely clean, dry and debris free since remaining debris can scratch the surface. Manual waxing and buffing require less expense but more time and intense labor to achieve a high shine.
