What is the AutoCAD scale factor?

The AutoCAD scale factor is the value used to plot text or other scale-sensitive elements of a drawing in the correct size in the AutoCAD program. The scale factor determines the size of the dimensions, dashed lines, blocks, text and architectural symbols of the drawing.
In AutoCAD, when using the APS menus, many of the scale factor values are listed on the help menu. To calculate the scale factor of a drawing, first convert both values to the same type of units and then divide the second value by the first. The answer is the scale factor for the drawing.
