Are Avanti microwaves energy efficient?

Avanti microwave ovens are not considered energy efficient appliances by the Department of Energy's Energy Star certification program. Energy Star does not currently certify microwaves from any manufacturer as energy efficient products as of 2015.

Energy consumption by microwave ovens varies little from manufacturer to manufacturer. This is the major reason no energy efficiency standard for microwave ovens is currently established. Potential Avanti microwave oven purchasers seeking the most efficient unit available are advised to purchase a unit rated at 800 watts of output or less such as the Avanti M07082MB, as these lower-powered microwaves are somewhat more efficient than more powerful models.
