In 2013, the average amount of time divorcées wait to remarry was three years. The number of widowed or divorced women who remarried was only 29 out of 1,000 in 2011.
In 2013, the United States had the 6th highest divorce rate in the world. The rate of failed first marriages was 41 percent, while the rates of failed second and third marriages were 60 and 73 percent respectively. Each state has its own law with regards to divorce and remarriage. The state of Alabama prohibits people from remarrying until 60 days after their divorce. In California, people need to wait six months before they can remarry.
