What is the average budget for a Hollywood movie?

By Forinfos - 11/07/2025 - 0 comments

In 2007, the average above and below the line cost to make a standard Hollywood film was 65 million dollars. Including marketing, which figures in an average of 35 million dollars, movies cost generally 100 million dollars with all expenses.

No concrete data has been presented for later years, as of mid-2015. While 100 million dollars is an average estimate including the creation of the film, marketing and distribution, many movie budgets exceed this number or fall below it. Popular hit films such as "Avatar" and "The Dark Knight Rises" were made with 425 million and 275 million dollars, respectively. Other popular movies, including "Divergent" and "Memoirs of a Geisha," were made with 85 million dollar budgets.
