Foundation inspections include a visual observation of all areas on and around the foundation of a structure to check for cracks, defects and other problems. The inspector itemizes the observations and includes comments about its general condition, the soil around it, flooring and the materials used to create the foundation. The inspector then summarizes his findings in a report known as a distress analysis.
