What is the average cost of repairing a heater core?
By Forinfos - 03/09/2025 - 0 comments
As of 2015, the average cost of replacing a heater core ranges between $562 and $732. Labor costs run from $467 to $590 and parts cost $95 to $142.
The heater core acts like a small radiator. It pushes the hot air out of the dashboard and into the car. Replacing a heater core can take more than a day since the part is typically inside the front of the vehicle, requiring disassembly of the dashboard.
If engine coolant is not flushed or changed regularly, it can clog the piping that leads to the heater core. If coolant is unable to reach the heater core, heating ability may be reduced or lost completely. Leaks in the connections to the heater core can also result in loss of heat in a vehicle.
