The Doctor of Nursing Practice, or DNP, nursing salary in the United States has an average hourly rate of $50.Average annual pay ranges for a DNP are between $70,016 and $123,795, notes Payscale.
A DNP is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or APRN, who has gone on to receive a Ph.D., states the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Common roles for DNPs include patient care in the roles of nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives. While some professionals who become DNPs continue to work with patients, some become involved in independent research studies, and others work in interprofessional research teams.
