The Japan Meteorological Agency states that the average annual temperature in the capital of Tokyo is 16.3 degrees Celsius. The data is based on data observed between 1981 and 2010. The source lists 11 major Japanese weather stations. The average annual temperature for all stations combined is around 16 degrees Celsius.
The Sapporo weather station had the coldest annual average temperature, at 8.9 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the station at Naha recorded the highest annual average, at 23.1 degrees Celsius. Kagoshima received the most precipitation, while Naha had the highest average relative humidity. Nagoya received the most hours of sunshine with around 2,092 a year.
