A baby bobcat is an unacceptable pet for a young child because they have a strong "fight or flight" instinct and will often bite or scratch people when upset. The bobcat is also a terror in the home and loves to chew everything in sight as well as sharpen its claws on furniture and walls.
The bobcat can be kept as a pet in some states depending on where the person lives. However, it is recommended that bobcats not be kept as pets. This holds true for adults as well because the bobcat has a mind of its own and is not easy to tame or to fully domesticate.
