There is no official or generally accepted term for a baby platypus. Some people refer to baby platypuses as puggles, but that is more of a nickname than a proper title. Another name commonly used is "platypup."
Platypuses can be found in eastern Australia, and they reside near freshwater lakes and rivers. They seek shelter in burrows that they create themselves and are most active during the night. Platypuses use their webbed feet to swim, typically with their eyes shut. They stay under water for about two minutes at a time but have the capacity stay submerged for up to 10 minutes. Platypuses live an average of 12 years.
