Mother robins feed their babies a diet consisting of worms, insects and fruit. Baby robins that are featherless have to eat every 15 to 20 minutes.
Robin parents are constantly looking for food to feed their babies. During the daylight hours, a mother will bring food back to the nest for her babies approximately every 20 minutes. As the babies grow, they leave the nest and spend their time on the ground. They begin to eat on their own, but the mother still supplements the feedings. The mother will continue to care for her babies until they reach about 4 weeks old.
