What is Banding in MTG?

In the game "Magic: The Gathering," banding is a static ability that modifies the combat phase. A creature with banding can form a group or band with any number of other creatures with banding abilities and up to one without banding abilities. Doing so modifies how creatures are assigned damage.

When a band is blocked, the owner of the band decides how to distribute combat damage among the members of the band. However, being in a band does not cause creatures to share abilities. Also, if one creature in a band becomes blocked, all creatures in the band are considered blocked.
