ZZ Top, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers and Zappa are famous bands whose names begin with the letter "Z." All of the bands are known as leaders in their specific music genres.

Zappa was fronted by Frank Zappa who is considered by the Rock and Roll Hall of fame to be the sharpest musical mind and most astute social critic of his generation. Zappa smoothly bridged multiple music genres, including rock, jazz, classical, avant-garde and novelty.

The three-man band ZZ Top is known for its Texas boogie and blues sound and is arguably the best at it. Ziggy Marley is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley. He and his siblings formed their band in the 1980s and have received multiple Grammy Awards.
