Which banks top the Forbes list of best banks for 2014?

In 2014, the bank ranked first on the Forbes list of best banks was Prosperity Bancshares, holding total assets of $16 billion. Following in second and third place were Signature Bank and State Street.

The 2014 list includes more than 100 banks. In order to form its rankings, the Forbes company compiles financial data from the firm SNL Financial. The metrics used to assess placement include average equity, net interest margin, nonperforming loans, nonperforming assets and reserves. Capital ratios and leverage ratio are also factors, and revenue growth appeared as a new metric in 2014. These rankings have been in existence since 2009.
