What is a bant in "Magic: The Gathering"?

In "Magic: The Gathering," a bant is one of the five shards of Alara. It is a plane that is primarily white, but also has green and blue as primary colors.

As a component of what once was Alara, Bant exhibits two colors and also serves as a home for several creatures. The primary mechanic of Bant is exalted. It is inhabited by rhoxes, aven, humans, leotau mounts and angels.

The other four shards of Alara include Esper, Grixis, Jund and Naya. Each of the shards has their own primary color complimented by secondary colors. In addition, they each have a primary mechanic and dominant creature types.
