What are basement pole wraps?

Basement pole wraps are covers that make the poles in basements more attractive. Pole wraps are placed around the poles and have matching top and bottom trim.
Pole wraps are made of unfinished oak, cherry, maple and MDF. The hardwoods can be stained or left unfinished, and the MDF can be painted to match the decor of the basement.
The wraps consist of wood strips that are placed close together on a flexible backing. This allows the wrap to bend around the pole. Kits are available with instructions for building a drink shelf onto the pole so the unsightly support poles can serve a useful purpose.
