What is a BBM PIN?

A BBM PIN is an eight digit code number that is unique to every registered Blackberry Messenger user. With a BBM PIN, users can be added to a contact list, and send messages without having to share their personal phone numbers or email addresses.

BBM PINs are automatically generated when users log into Blackberry Messenger for the first time. Users who install Blackberry Messenger on Android or iPhone devices also receive new BBM PINs that are unique to those devices. BBM PINs are also available as PIN Barcodes, which appear similar to QR codes, that users can scan instead of typing the PIN.
