The British Columbia (BC) Hydro and Power Authority is a provincial Crown corporation that provides electricity to the British Columbia province of Canada, according to the BC Hydro website. BC Hydro is regulated by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC).

BC Hydro uses a transparency approach to their Annual and Quarterly reports, their Service Plan and their Financial Information Act Return. Ninety percent of electricity is clean energy, mostly due to the large hydroelectric dams, specifically on the Peace and Columbia rivers. The company boasts a legacy dating back to 1860 with the founding of the Victoria Gas Company, according to the BC Hydro website.
