A beam load span chart is used to determine the size of rafters, beams and joints needed to build a structure. The charts contain corresponding sizes to make the process easier.
A load chart determines the amount of a weight a structure will hold given the materials used to build it. A span chart determines the size of beams, rafters and joints needed to achieve the target load capacity. Using a load chart in conjunction with a span chart allows architects to safely design buildings that hold the weight of both the structure and the occupants without any safety risks.
