How often do bearded dragons shed their skin?

Adult bearded dragons shed their skin once a year, while juvenile dragons that are still growing shed their skin several times in a year. Shedding is a natural process that allows the reptile to rejuvenate its body condition by molting the old, external skin layer.
Bearded dragons occasionally need help shedding completely. Pet owners who see their reptile having difficulty shedding should use a shedding product, such as Shed-Ease or Shedding Aid, to soak the reptile for 20 minutes. After a shed bath, the animal should be dried completely before placing it back into its enclosure to prevent excess moisture from causing bacterial growth.
