What is a capless wig?

A capless wig has spaces between the wefts, or strips of material that hold the hairs onto the wig. Instead of a solid lace construction with wefts touching, the capless model reduces the density to make the wig lighter.

A capless wig is often considered more comfortable than a standard cap because of the reduced weight. It also allows for more ventilation than a standard cap wig, making it cooler to wear. The method of attaching a capless wig depends on the specific construction. It may attach using clips, adhesive or tape. Some capless wigs have elastic sides strong enough to hold the wig in place, with the option of tightening it at the nape of the neck.
