What is a crepe sole?

Crepe sole shoes are made of natural crepe rubber or colloidal latex crepe. These soles provide natural support and bounce and are ideal for light outdoor use. Synthetic PVC crepe is more durable than latex crepe and is suitable for more rugged conditions.
The quality of latex crepe used in crepe soles depends on the process used to prepare and produce it. Pale Latex Crepe (PLC) is generally considered to be the highest quality and produces the bounciest soles, while Estate Brown Crepe (EBC) is made from coagulated rubber harvested directly from the rubber tree and is more commonly used.
