Strong plastic glue can cause fingers orother parts of the skin to stick together or stick onto fabric. To remove strong plastic glue from the skin or clothing, try washing the area with warm soapy water. If that does not remove the glue, wipe the glue away with acetone.
Strong glues for plastics such as Super Glue, Gorilla Super Glue and Krazy Glue can be difficult to remove from skin and fabric. Remove super glue from the skin using the following steps.
- Soak the skin
- Peel the glue away
- Apply acetone to the area
- Wash and moisturize the skin
Submerge the area in warm soapy water and let it soak for a while. If the glue is on the face or somewhere else that cannot be submerged, wash the area with warm soapy water, using as much water as possible.
Gently peel as much glue away as possible. Use a hard object such as a pencil or spoon to help pry some of the glue away from the skin.
Use an acetone solution, such as nail polish remover, to gently remove the rest of the glue from the skin.
Acetone can be very irritating to the skin. Therefore, it is important to wash the solution away after the glue is gone. Follow up with some moisturizer.
Acetone solution can also remove strong glue from clothing. Apply a small amount of acetone to the fabric using a toothbrush and work the glue away from the fabric. Acetone may discolor some fabrics.
