A patting of cornstarch helps to dry up damp areas and reduce friction. Maalox should be applied with a cotton ball to the baby's bottom to help prevent diaper rash. One tablespoon of oatmeal can be added to a baby's bath. A baby's bottom can be wiped with a vinegar solution of eight parts water to one part vinegar. Finally, cranberry juice can be given to older infants in 2 to 3 ounce amounts.
