What is a MAC 120 eyeshadow palette?

A MAC 120 eye shadow palette is a collection of 120 eye shadow colors fraudulently claiming to be made by MAC Cosmetics. According to MAC Cosmetics, the company does not make a 120-color eye shadow palette as of 2014.

While any 120-color eye shadow palette purporting to be from MAC Cosmetics is a fake, there are other ways to determine whether eye shadows claiming to be made by MAC are real. Real MAC palettes come with brushes rather than with sponge-tip applicators. In addition, real MAC eye shadows all have unique names, as opposed to generic color names or numbers, and all define the type of finish, such as matte or frost.
