Vinnie Politan wasn't fired from HLN in 2014. He decided to leave the network on his own accord. Politan was offered a new contract from HLN but turned it down to pursue other options.

After leaving HLN in July 2014, Politan joined the morning news in Atlanta as the head anchor for WXIA-TV Channel 11.

During Vinnie Politan's career at HLN, he worked on a number of shows, including "After Dark," "On the Case," "Prime News with Vinnie Politan" and "HLN Special Report." Before joining HLN, he worked for Channel 10 News in New Jersey, and in 2000 he was a contributor for Time Warner.
