What is Betnovate N?

Betnovate N is the former brand name for betamethasone and neomycin cream and ointment, which is a topical corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are typically used to reduce inflammation. Betnovate N was discontinued and is only available in generic form without a brand name.

The active ingredient in betamethasone and neomycin cream is betamethasone valerate. Betamethasone valerate reduces the release of inflammatory substances inside skin cells, thereby reducing swelling. Neomycin is an antibiotic that treats bacterial infections by causing the bacteria to produce faulty proteins.
